Tory Lanez is back in a big way. The Brampton rapper shared the cover art and tracklist for his upcoming sophomore album Memories Don’t Die Friday night, and he’s also given fans some new music to tide them over until the LP arrives. On top of “March 2nd,” a venting new track that doubles as a release date reminder, Lanez has given fans The Bag, a 3-track zip file that contains both the new track and two PARTYNEXTDOOR collaborations “More Than Friends” and “Learning.” Leaked versions of the songs have been floating around on the internet for some time, but have now been given their first official release.
PARTYNEXTDOOR will not appear on the proper album, which according to the tracklist will feature guest appearances from 50 Cent, NAV, Wiz Khalifa, Fabolous, Paloma Ford, and Future.
In an interview with HNHH last summer, Tory spoke of the evolution of his sound and writing style from I Told You to Memories Don’t Die. “You know, it’s a lot more music,” he said. “There’s a lot more collaborative efforts done. There’s features this time around. There’s producers that I didn’t work with before that I’m working with now. It’s just things that are very different. I started writing again, like writing down. I got my composition book. I got that back with the college rule lines on it. That’s when I’m on my A+ game.”
